BEFORM is investing a lot in solar power energy and battery storage solutions for our production sites. This will provide our production with green energy, possibility to store large amount of green power and improve CO2 footprint for our products.
Solar energy has significant potential to help reduce BEFORM’s dependence on grid energy and non-renewable energy sources. By generating its own power using solar cells, BEFORM AS could experience a substantial reduction in its electricity bill. Electricity consumption is often a major expense for companies, so this saving could be significant.
Additionally, solar energy is a renewable resource. Unlike fossil fuels, which are finite resources, solar energy will be available as long as the sun continues to shine. This gives BEFORM a degree of energy security; by generating its own power, the company becomes less dependent on the electricity grid, which could be very useful in the event of power outages or other problems with the power grid.
The use of solar energy is also environmentally friendly. Solar energy does not produce greenhouse gases or other harmful emissions. By using solar panels, BEFORM can reduce its carbon footprint and help fight climate change.
We are now working to establish our first solar energy facility with a capacity of 520 MWh and a 1 MWh battery storage in Fredrikstad in the near future.
This facility will consist of many solar panels on the ground, on the factory roof, and on the outer walls. Our goal is to generate more than 40% of our total energy needs with solar energy.
